LOS ANGELES, California — Grammy-nominated Sky “Blu” Gordy announced today that he is joining the Board of Creative Endeavor’s Music Lab. Sky is one half of the RIAA Diamond-Certified duo LMFAO whose hits Party Rock Anthem, Sexy and I Know It and Shots (f/ Lil Jon) have sold over 20 million units and received more than 1.2 billion streaming views.

The duo exploded onto the scene after a feature on David Guetta’s Gettin’ Over You. They were subsequently signed to Interscope Records by Jimmy Iovine and will.i.am and became synonymous with a generation of college-age Millennials who rocked out to their chart-topping electro-pop tracks. At their peak, they hit #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and were nominated for a Grammy.  Over their relentless touring career, the duo performed 1200+ high energy EDM-driven shows which brought them from college towns to the far corners of the globe. LMFAO’s biggest achievement in sync licensing? They were featured as the theme song to the pop culture hit “Jersey Shore,” reaching over 100 million aggregate viewers each season.

Sky joins Creative Endeavor to provide creative direction as head of the Producers Circle. He will facilitate the expansion of the roster of artist/producer collaborations, working closely with Head of Music Production Henryk “Tech” Garcia.

An interesting side note — Sky comes from a legendary music family and is the grandson of Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown. Motown launched the careers of countless superstars including Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knight and, Boyz II Men. The family is continuing its pioneering work today with an emphasis on a new generation of social media-driven star power.

He has worked in artist development for Sony Music Latin and Epic Records, and his independent film scores have appeared in major film festivals including Tribeca. Tech has his finger on the pulse of the music industry and the new directions the market is taking with Millennial and Gen Z audiences.
